Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026

Short version: Everything you enter about your baby stays on your iPhone and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud account. We have no server and can't see it. We collect anonymous app-usage statistics and crash reports to improve the app, and you can turn usage statistics off.

What you enter

Your baby's name, birthdate and photo (if you add one), the foods you log, reactions, notes, meal plans, saved meals and allergen progress are stored on your device, in the app's local database. We (the developer) have no server and cannot see this information.

iCloud sync and backup

If you're signed in to iCloud, Bitelings keeps a copy of your data in your own private iCloud account (Apple CloudKit), so it syncs between your devices and comes back on a new iPhone. It's stored under your Apple Account and Apple's privacy policy. We cannot access it. There's no Bitelings account and no sign-in. To turn it off, go to the iPhone Settings app → [your name] → iCloud and switch off Bitelings. The app keeps working on your iPhone without it.

If you use iCloud Backup, Apple also includes the app's data in your device backup.

Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple. We receive no payment or personal details. The app checks your purchase status on your device using Apple's StoreKit.

Usage statistics and crash reports

Bitelings uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. They tell us which screens and features are used (for example "a food page was opened", "a food was logged", "the paywall was shown"), the catalog name of foods involved (for example "avocado"), your baby's age range (for example "6–8 months", never the birthdate), and technical details when the app crashes (device model, iOS version, app version and where in the code the crash happened). Firebase assigns a random app-instance ID; it is not linked to your name or Apple ID.

We never send your baby's name, birthdate, photo, notes, the names of foods you type in yourself, or anything else you write in the app.

You can turn usage statistics off at any time in Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous usage data. In the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland they stay off unless you choose to share. Crash reports are always sent, because they contain no personal content and let us fix problems. Google processes this data on our behalf under the Firebase privacy and security terms.

Ads and tracking

None. Bitelings shows no ads, does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Notifications

Meal, allergen and trial reminders are scheduled locally on your iPhone. We run no push server. iCloud uses Apple's silent notifications to tell the app that synced data changed. These carry no content.

Sharing

Data leaves your device and your iCloud only when you choose to share it:

Deleting your data

In the app: Settings → Delete [baby]'s data. This removes it from your iPhone, your iCloud and anyone you share with. Deleting the app removes everything on your iPhone. To also remove the iCloud copy, go to the iPhone Settings app → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Bitelings → Delete Data.

Children

Bitelings is used by parents and caregivers. It is not directed at children and collects no information from or about a child beyond what a parent enters, which stays on the device and in the parent's own iCloud.

This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not track you across sites; it only records aggregate data such as the page visited, referrer, country and browser type.
